About
Squaddle was created by a group of friends who were tired of how hard it was to organise football games each week. We started with an early prototype in 2019 (testing with a game we run in Hackney). We then used the covid hiatus of 2020/21 to build the Squaddle you see today and we hope it will be useful for lots of groups starting to enjoy playing sport again.
Whether it's a casual 5-a-side in the park or an amateur 11-a-side team playing on the Hackney Marshes, or anything in between, we know from experience that it can be a pain to send out invites, figure out who can play, and take payments.
With Squaddle, we aim to do all the hard work for you and substantially reduce the time it takes to organise a game. You can easily send invites out to your whole squad and Squaddle will automatically compile a list of confirmed players based on the responses. It doesn't matter whether it's a one-off game, a weekly game with a different opposition or location each week, or a recurring game that never changes.
Unlike other similar services, Squaddle doesn't require an app to be installed by users — they simply add an email address or WhatsApp number to get invitations and other notifications. By making it easy to sign up for and interact with Squaddle, we hope the experience will be painless for admins and players alike.
Squaddle is currently in early testing, but we're planning to launch a beta version to more users soon. If you're interested in helping us test Squaddle, email us at info@squaddle.co.uk.
We're working on bringing in-built payments and tons of other exciting features to Squaddle, so it's going to become even more useful. Watch this space.
